NeuroLaunch is accepting applications to the world’s first accelerator for early stage neuroscience startups.

Atlanta, GA — NeuroLaunch, a new accelerator program for early stage start-ups related to neuroscience, is now accepting applications for its first cohort. Starting in November 2014, up to 10 start-up teams in residence will undergo the 3-month NeuroLaunch accelerator in Atlanta.

These teams will be given access to seed funding, world-class mentors, a tailored curriculum for business model validation, strategic partnerships, and direct introductions to investors. Inspired by successful tech accelerators such as Y Combinator and Rock Health, NeuroLaunch focuses solely on neuroscience-related companies. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until October 1.

“NeuroLaunch ushers in a new era of marrying startup culture with neuroscience,” said Dr. Jordan Amadio, NeuroLaunch co-founder. “We are looking for teams who will interface with the brain and nervous system to change the world in unexpected ways.”

“The NeuroLaunch accelerator process offers a unique opportunity for the growing number of entrepreneurs building on neuroscience ideas. I am excited to be part of the mentor team helping these new startups,” said Dr. Nicholas Boulis, a functional neurosurgeon and pioneering translational stem cell therapy researcher.

NeuroLaunch is unique among accelerators for providing a curriculum, environment, and roster of mentors customized for neuroscience-related businesses. Its intended audience includes researchers looking to commercialize intellectual property, entrepreneurs pursuing neuroscience-related concepts, and spinoff projects from established corporations.

NeuroLaunch seeks to build an international brand for neuro-startup innovation. In February 2015, the first cohort of NeuroLaunch companies will culminate in a Demo Day, where teams will receive direct exposure to venture capitalists, angel investors, and key corporate partners.

Year 1 goal is to launch 15 neuroscience-based start-ups.
